The Association of Commercial Television in Europe (ACT) is a trade body for the commercial broadcasting sector in Europe. Formed in 1989, the ACT has 27 member companies active in 37 European countries, operating and distributing several thousand free-to-air and pay-tv channels and new media services.

Mediaset's Board approves 2017 Results

Mediaset’s Board of Directors, chaired by Fedele Confalonieri, approved the Group's 2017 Report highlighting return of net profit. Mediaset reaffirmed its leadership consolidation in cross-media advertising, a focus on the production of original Italian entertainment, thanks to a plan of investment optimisation, and to the transformation of the pay-TV offer, increasingly less dependent on football and opening up the Premium DTT platform to third parties.

Setting new standards: Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland launches linear UHD test channel

With the debut of RTL UHD, Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland launches a linear Ultra HD test channel for the first time. The new service will initially be limited in availability until the end of 2018 via distribution partner HD+. Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland will use RTL UHD to live-broadcast Formula 1 races and the qualifying sessions of the current season.
