The Association of Commercial Television in Europe (ACT) is a trade body for the commercial broadcasting sector in Europe. Formed in 1989, the ACT has 27 member companies active in 37 European countries, operating and distributing several thousand free-to-air and pay-tv channels and new media services.

CANAL+ Group signs the new media chronology

CANAL + Group has signed the new media chronology and thanks the Ministry of Culture and the Centre National du Cinéma for contributing to the conclusion of this agreement. The latter, which follows the one signed on 8 November 2018 with French cinema, allows CANAL + to reinforce its film proposal with the possibility of showing films between six and eight months after their theatrical release.

ITV launches new consumer magazine

ITV launches a new magazine that previews the very best of 2019 and features exclusive interviews with some of TV’s biggest stars. The magazine also features exclusive behind the scenes features on The Voice, ITV’s Racing and Six Nations coverage. The launch of The ITV Magazine is part of ITV’s ‘More Than TV strategy’ which CEO Carolyn McCall set out earlier in 2018, a key part of which is to develop strong consumer relationships.

NENT Group secures exclusive women's tennis rights

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has acquired the exclusive Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish media rights to 50 tennis tournaments from the Women’s Tennis Association. Tennis fans can now follow players such as Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki and Sweden’s Rebecca Peterson live on NENT Group’s streaming service Viaplay, with selected matches also broadcast on NENT Group’s TV channels.

Over 802,722 people have watched it since it premiered on 25 December 2018.
